Teachers

A few weeks ago I did this piece for the Chronicle of Higher Education.  It was about this idea that older, tenured, unproductive professors are refusing to retire, and thus they are “hogging” positions and preventing them from opening up for young scholars, who are thought to have fresher ideas and have more to offer… but the author of the article says that this is a myth.

This was one of those times were I really struggled to come up with a concept that worked.  I had sent in some sketches but I knew none of them really did the job; until I came up with this idea in the shower the day before the deadline, and thankfully Scott approved it despite how the sketch looked…

then I did a tighter sketch…

and finally went to final with three layers of drawing.
